TP-Link Router Internet Connection Problem

My TP Link Model No. TL-WR740N / TL-WR741ND is not connected when I plug in the internet cable. When the cable is directly plugged into the PC the net works fine. Has the modem gone faulty or is it a settings error?

you need to power cycle the modem in order for it to associate with your router.
