Tracking cause of earlier boot problem

Hi.
I have Win 7 Ultimate. I was having a booting problem ( http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3663448/uninstalling-win-program-booted.html ). After running checkdisk, Win 7 is booting again. But I got no log file when I ran it using the GUI in XP. How do I find out what was the cause of my earlier failure to boot in Win 7?

Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Event Viewer.
In the console tree, click System Log. If theres no log then your ssd is probably failing and unable to write to the pagefile during dumps

Thanks. The last log is of the system shutting down the day before the booting problem occurred. Nothing for the day that it wouldn't boot up. Oh well.

Just to get an idea you can download crystaldisk or hard disk sentinel to give you an idea of bad sectors or other problems coming up with the disk.

Thanks. I used hard disk sentinel and it gave a 100% performance score and 90% health score. "There are 3 bad sectors on the disk surface. The contents of these sectors were moved to the spare area. There is 1 weak sector found on the disk surface. It may be remapped any time in the later use of the disk. 625 errors occured during data transfer."
