Trading platform requires Pentium 4 or higher?

I am an aspiring day trader. I want to buy a lap top. The trading platform I use says the miniumum requirement is a Pentium 4 or higher? Dumb question: do they still make Pentium 4? I am looking for the cheapest possible lap top I can find. I won't day trade with this lap top. I will, however, use it to practice on the simulator. So i need to make sure it can handle the platform software. If I can't find a Pentium 4 what are other chips that I should look for that would be equal or higher than a Pentium 4? My desk top is an i3 Intel chip. But those are too expensive. I am really strapped for money right now. Thank you.

Solution
Pentium 4 is 18 years old. That means pretty much ANYTHING from the last ten years will work not only fine, but well. Anything from the last five years will be good. Anything being sold new will be more even than you need if it's not new old stock.

Even this would work perfectly fine for those requirements.

Solution
Thank you for your answer. The only computer I found in my price range today was this one at Office Depot for $220. It has a Celeron chip. So based on what you're saying this is better than a Pentium 4, and will be able to handle my trading platform?

Here are the minimum requirements for my trading platform, followed by the name and stats of the computer I was looking at today. Thanks again.

• Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, Windows Server 2008 w/ Platform Update, Windows Server 2008 R2 or later
• Minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768
• Minimum P4 Processor or higher
• 2GB RAM
• Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 (pre-installed on most PC’s)

HP 14-bs153od Laptop, 14" Screen, Intel® Celeron®, 4GB Memory, 64GB eMMC, Windows® 10 Home

Yeah, that exceeds the minimum specifications by about 20x. That is a very weak laptop by today's standards, so if you also want this to be capable enough for the rest of the things you may want or need to do going forward, you will want something newer than that. BUT, if all you care about right now is being able to meet those specifications, then that unit will be more than adequate.
