Question Transfer spanned m.2's to new build

Hi,

I'm upgrading my current build with new mobo, gpu and ram but would like to keep my os and data intact. I currently have three 500 gb m.2 nvme's which I've merged to one volume, so has os and my data on it. Would it be possible to transfer these three m.2's to the new mobo and keep the data intact? Or would it otherwise be possible to clone my data to a 2 tb hdd, then put that in new build, transfer the 3 m.2's and clone again?

Thnx for the advise

Oh my goodness no.

Spanned, how, exactly?

What is the old hardware and new hardware?
Full parts list, please.

Spanned might not even be the right terminology, it's been years so don't remember exactly how I've done it. I guess during os installation I've deleted all three volumes and created one big one, otherwise in the bios.

Old hardware is an asrock taichi z270, i7 6700 k with 3 samsung 960 m.2 nvme ssds

New hardware is asus rog strix x670e-a wifi with a ryzen 9 7950x. I would like to keep the current storage

What is your time worth, per hour?

6 year old Intel to current AMD; plus spanned volumes;

Looks like a major ordeal to me.

You can get a new 2 TB NVMe for 100 to 150. Clean install; no problems.

Of course a clean install wouldn't be a problem, but would a new nvme really make that huge of a difference compared to the ones i have now?

A 2 TB drive would presumably let you avoid spanned volumes.

That would be enough difference for me.

You are quite likely going to be forced to a clean install regardless....and then redo the spanned stuff. If you did that once, I'd assume you could do it again.

But why? Unless you cannot afford to buy more storage?

i7 6700 k -> ryzen 9 7950x

This dictates a full OS reinstall. Period.
Spanned or otherwise.

Start over with a whole different storage config.
Your current 3x 500GB "spanned" is a waste of time and effort.
Serves exactly zero purpose.
