I have several 3M DC 2120 Mini Data Cartridge Tapes. They are about 10 years old and have data on them. I'd like to know where to go to get the data downloaded to a CD or DVD. Does anybody provide that service?

If you've still got the PC then just use it to restore the files to an external USB hard drive or flash memory stick. If the PC doesn't have any USB connectors then you can get a PCI-to-USB adapter card for $15 to $20. Once you've got it on a USB device you can plug it into another computer with a DVD burner to burn the files to a DVD.

Even if you don't have a DVD burner of your own (they're also very cheap BTW), you'll have a lot easier time finding someone who can burn stuff from a USB device than from a tape cartridge.
As I recall, the software is "Colorado" something or another, perhaps "Colorado Backup". I still have the pc with the drive that runs these tapes, but I don't know how to transfer the tape contents to CD or DVD. I thought it would be easier to find somebody to do it.

Hello:

I have some DC2120 tapes made using 'colorado backup" and no longer
have the computer or the drive...

Anyone know where I can get these tapes read and files transferred
to CD?

Anyone in that kind of business?

Will pay...

I've encountered Colorado Backup for tapes coming from Windows systems. It's owned by Hewlett-Packard now. There used to be a limited-life free download.

You can also try OnTrack Data Recovery. I think they can read almost anything.

Yes, the link has my Partner ID on it, but I don't get a cut...

I do this sort of thing for tapes written by VAX systems running the VAX/VMS (now known as OpenVMS) operating system. Kind of a narrow niche, I know:
