Question Transferring data from one storage unit to another.

I think the motherboard from the storage unit has died, but the harddisks are okay. It's 6 x 2 TB Seagate Harddisks in a Lacie system. Raid 1 (Mirroring).

I have a new one (in working order) also.

My question is, can I simply connect one of the mirrored hard disks and copy the data across to the new one?

What model storage unit?
Is it 6 disks, 2TB each ? or 2 disks 6TB each?

I'd move disks from old unit to new one and see, if data can be accessed.

How did I not think of that?

They are 2 disks 6 TB each. Hopefully, that will be it, it arrive in the next few days so I can test. Thanks a lot

If the new unit is using a RAID controller from the same manufacturer, then it may read the hard drives just fine.

Otherwise it's mostly a "try it and see." If it doesn't show up, then there's nothing you can really do.
