Transferring License + Student Deal

I took advantage of that student deal Microsoft offered in 2009 where you could get Windows 7 for $30. I'll be building a new machine soon and wanted to verify that this copy of Windows can be transferred to another machine. I feel like I should be able to do it, but I just wanted to see if anyone had already done this and could verify the results.

As long as Windows 7 license is installed one system and only one system you should be fine. You might have to call Microsoft and let them know that, if it becomes an invalid key.

If that license was not an OEM one or an Upgrade, you can install it on the new PC if the old one is no longer used. For an Upgrade to be legally installed on the new computer, you need to get another full OS license for it, then install the upgrade.

Somehow i got Window 7 Professional 32/64bit for free from http://msdn08.e-academy.com. Maybe the university paid for it. I'm a IT student, so i can get most software for free.
