So I recently transferred my windows OS to an SSD but now I'm not sure how access most of my files from my hard drive. Don't get me wrong I can still access the hard drive and can see most of the files and programs but the SSD is now the default drive for EVERYTHING and since its only 120gb since its a boot drive and not for anything else I'm at a loss as for what to do. Can someone give me a few basic steps on how to retrieve the data from my hard drive and make it basically my primary drive without sacrificing the SSD as my boot device? Any and all help would be appreciated.

If you can "access the hard drive..." as you say you can when you boot to the new SSD boot drive, what's the problem? Why would you not be able to "retrieve the data from my hard drive" if it's accessible in your system? These statements seem to make no sense.

And what do you mean when you say you "can see MOST (my caps) of the files and programs...' on the HDD. Most? Not all? Have you deleted or moved data from the HDD to the SSD? Is that what you mean?

the issue is this; While pictures, word documents, videos and other data has transferred over I am missing most if not all of my programs and applications. Furthermore data such as some more buried items which I had to dig through a slew of folders and things before is now hidden to me as I am unaware of the location of it now since the only route to it is through the old windows user folder and this was not how I accessed it originally. Like I stated before the biggest issue though is more than anything having to make sure that everything directs to the hard drive and NOT the SSD; I was hoping for some help in the form of either a sweeping solution where I dig into the system's directory (or something of the like) and rewrite a line to redirect files and downloads to the hard drive or even a program that does it for me if someone is lucky enough to have one.

I'm not ashamed to admit that while I do know a bit about BUILDING computers physically as well as program modification such as more basic modification to slip around loopholes I am not really at all adept in this sort of problem and the person who was going to help me with this blind sided me with taking me to installing the OS on the new drive, setting up the bios to only boot aforementioned drive without specifically correcting it and then leaving me to flounder. It happened so fast I didn't even have time to research this and am now scrambling to reassemble programs and other data back into a form of order before a trip I'm taking this friday where I NEED this computer.

In short if I don't get everything put back together I am screwed royally and since this forum has been an immense help I was hoping for someone to guide me through this simply and quickly

I honestly don't think I'm sufficiently competent to respond to your query in any intelligent or useful way since I'm not comfortable with my ability to completely grasp the details of your problem, let alone offer a practical solution.

Hopefully, since you "fleshed out" your problem I'll trust some responder coming upon this thread will be sufficiently experienced re this dilemma and be able to offer you some viable solution.
