Hi guys, I just bought a Dell S2240L today, noticed that there were dots that seem to randomly flicker on my monitor, on both VGA and HDMI inputs, with different laptops.. (one macbook air with minidisplayport to VGA adapter, one android tv box with hdmi, and one ultrabook with VGA adapter as well)

Is this a problem that will go away by itself? Uploaded a video that hopefully shows the issue which becomes clearer after 10seconds into the video..

Thanks in advance :)

Solution
Normally this happens from VRAM failures due to overclocking and/or overheating your GPU. However, since you're seeing it across multiple computers plugged in, it's happening in the monitor. The monitor also has some GPU-like circuitry, mainly a controller to display 8-bit colors on a 6-bit panel (it rapidly shifts pixels between colors to generate the illusion of the extra 2 bits of color).

It looks like the controller to do this in your monitor is defective, causing the dots to occasionally flicker white instead flicker between two almost-same 6-bit colors. Exchange it for a new one.
