I'm swapping my old 16gigs kit for a trident z 3200 gtzr 32gigs.. I wanted to know does having a gtzrx kit have any noticeable advantages over a gtzr kit in a 1700x running on a gigabyte ax370 gaming k5?

Mind sharing a link to both the ram kits, old and new? Prior to any BIOS updates, I'd advise that you're on the latest BIOS update for your motherboard. To note, with a Ryzen 1000 series, the highest you can go is DDR4-3200MHz, or slightly lower than that.
