Hey,
I just installed and got an 840 EVO 250GB up and running on a mid 2012 MBP! I would like to know how to enable trim, since the 840 EVO especially is in favour of having trim enabled. Also in general it is really good for the health of the SSD to enable it! :)
The most recent OS X update from apple makes third-party SSD's disable TRIM by default - as apple only needs to make their original Apple SSD's to run on OS X! :/
Thanks! :)

Everything you need to know about enabling it is here:

I do recommend Trim Enabler to make it easy to do.

That said, with modern SSDs like yours, TRIM is not really needed. It may help performance a tiny bit but not very noticeable. My personal non-expert opinion is that the risk of enabling it in Yosemite is not worth the added benefit.

hahah! Just, before you posted your answer, i tried out the "Cindoris TRIM enabler" you talked about! Jesus christ, i was so afraid of not being able to boot again - rather luckily i would say - it worked!
You are definitely right in saying its not worth the risk - but hey - it worked!
As system report says:
TRIM support: Yes

Thanks :)
