Hello Members!

I currently own two 24 inch monitors one of which is from Asus and the other ViewSonic. I was wondering about hooking up my Tv (Vizio 32 inch) to make it my third display. I may do some occasional gaming using all 3 monitors

Anyways how would connecting 3 monitors through my hd 6870 work? The TV would have to use HDMI and the other 2 use DVI. Only reason why I'm asking is because I read somewhere that one monitor has to be connected via display port.

Thanks in advance!

You can use an active DP to DVI adapter to connect the third monitor. With different monitors of different sizes, I can't recommend eyefinity gaming. You'll have to turn the detail down to play games across three monitors with your 6870.

I'm more familiar with Nvidia at this point and I think you would need something like a 670 (at a minimum) to play on three screens. Most people who really play on three screens have something like a 690.

Its really expensive to play on three screens because your graphics card is pushing three times the number of pixels.

I should have specified earlier. I will be needing the third screen to increase my productivity. I rarely play games such as bf3, crysis3, l4d2, other steam games, I will be getting bf4. Other games I play are LoL and SC2 but those only run on one monitor.

Also the 690 is waaaay out of my price range haha. System Specs are in my sig below :)
