Hi Guys,

After some in depth internet searches and even speaking with the monitor manufacturers, I just can't figure out how it will be possible to have a triple monitor rig with each display running at 144z.

Monitor 1 (Main) - BenQ XL2720Z 27'' - VGA, DVI, HDMI, DPI, USB.

Monitor 2 & 3 (Sides) - BenQ XL2411Z 24'' - VGA, DVI, HDMI.

GPU - EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti SC ACX 2.0+ 6GB GDDR5 - 1x DVI-I, 1x HDMI & 3x Display Port.

I know I can go Display Port (GPU) to Display Port (Monitor) for the Main 27", and DVI-I (GPU) to DVI-I (Monitor 1 or 2) for the second link, but that leaves the 3rd monitors only option to connect via HDMI, which doesn't support 144hz?

Is there another way I can have all monitors running at 144hz with this particular setup? (Daisy chain, cable adaptors etc?)

Thanks for the help, all comments welcome!

Hey,
I just trying to figure that myself also, i have one GTX 980 ti KFA2 OC and i'm wondering if its worth it the triple screen with benq XL2411Z (i have one atm and will have to buy 2) but if i cant go 144hz on 3 i dont think it's worth it.

Hi Clem,

In the end I just went for a duel screen setup rather than triple (these monitors are huge and 3 would of looked silly on my desk) but I have both setup at 144hz currently and they look great :)

I believe the GTX 980ti has 3 display ports which you could just connect straight to your monitors with an individual cable for each, I see no reason why this wouldn't support 144hz for each screen. Hope this helps!

Ok so it's mean you arent doing 2d/3d surround?
Unfortunatly the Benq XL24117 have not display ports at all 🙁 . So I just begin to think that i have to change screens or get another 980ti wich arent options ^^.

Ahhhh sorry Clem, I forgot to mention that I just went for duel BenQ XL2720Z (27 inch) monitors rather than the 24 inch as was the original plan. I opened for the 27's as annoyingly the 24's don't have display port! Nobody (including BenQ) could answer my original quiry so I just went for the monitors which I know for sure would work. Sorry I couldn't be more any more help matey.

Connect all 3 monitors using display port since the 980ti as 3 display port output, that what I going to do, once I receive my 980ti ftw.

Otherwise, you can use adapters, check out accell products page on amazon, should help

BTW, does the xl2720z come with a display port cable included?
