Quick question. I am going for a triple monitor setup with the middle monitor being an acer predator x34, so i was wondering if i should go for 2 1080p 27" monitors for the side? you know since the whole point of them are to cover up my peripheral vision, or would i notice the resolution drop?.
Also would a 1440p ultrawide look good sandwiched between two 4k monitors?

That's an interesting question - you're talking about going from a curved ultra wide 1440 screen to a flat 1080 screen on each end, albeit on your (extreme) perif.

IMO that's a little overkill, and while the vertical screen length on that x34 is going to be close to a 27" monitor, it might not be exactly on, which can create a disconnect in the experience. Personally, I'd just stick to one ultrawide monitor, those things are already gargantuan enough. If you add 2 more monitors to the end it seems like you'd almost have to actually turn your head to see from one end of the screen to the other, which for me would be very disorienting and kind of distracting.

Or, since it seems like price isn't that much of a limiting factor, I'd go...

Or, since it seems like price isn't that much of a limiting factor, I'd go for 3 27" monitors with gsync (or freesync, whatever flavor you like) and make them all 1080, or if you have some serious graphical horsepower, 1440. I've been doing a lot of reading up on creating my own triple monitor setup, and from what I've gathered you want to aim for 3 of the same monitors (if at all possible) so you can line up the bezel placement exactly, same resolution (running at a non native resolution is never the best way to use a monitor) and the same refresh rate.

Good luck, I'd say any setup with an x34 is going to be awesome.
