Hi,
I recently purchased the Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575G-53VG for school. The laptop only has a 256GB SSD, but it has space for a second storage drive. I bought the HGST Travelstar 7K1000 2.5-Inch 1TB drive to install into it. The space for the second drive is very open, so I called Acer and they sent a holder to keep the drive from getting disconnected. At this point, I have the hard drive hooked in and held in place, but it is not being recognized in Windows disk management or in the BIOS. Both the laptop and second hard drive are new, so I wouldn't think it would be a hardware problem, but I have no clue what to do as this is my first time installing a hard drive into a laptop. Do I need to download any drivers for the second drive or anything like that? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
