The backplate and the AMD mounting bracket went on easy, but the screws on the cooler don't reach the holes on the bracket. I pulled the MB out to make sure, but the cooler isn't making contact with anything other than the CPU. Has anybody else had this problem? I've triple checked the instructions, but I can't figure out what I'm missing.

Already contacted Cryorig customer support, but I thought I might get a quicker response here.
My MB is an ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0. Thanks.

Yeah, I didn't want to use much pressure while it was on the CPU, so I took it off to see if the spring would compress any and it didn't budge at all.

Here's what Cryorig customer support told me to do.

Thanks for your reply. After we check your attachments, we think this installation guide might help you out:

1. Lean the R1 to make one Spring Screw to contact the hole on the mounting plate.

2. Screw the Spring Screw, but not too tight (1/3rd's).

3. Increase pressure from the other side to make the other Spring Screw to contact the other hole.

4. Screw in 1/3rd’s at a time then alternate between both sides.

As you can see our attachments, at the beginning, the Spring Screw seems too short to reach the hole, but if you follow our steps, it should be fine!

If you have more questions, please contact us!

Here is a link to the pictures they sent me. Could I damage the CPU doing this?

(Update) Is it possible that the CPU socket is more elevated above the rest of the MB than it should be? I had this same problem with my last cooler, but I was able to bend the bracket some on it to get the screws to reach. Also, I've double checked to make sure the CPU is fully seated.

I tried, but the holes for the spring screws don't go all the way through the mounting plate, they're only on the top side.

I haven't decided yet if I should send it back and maybe get a Noctua or swap the spring screws out for some longer ones, which might void the warranty.

I feel like an idiot for not thinking of it sooner, but I was able to put a washer in between the screw pillars and the mounting plate. That raised the mounting plate up enough to where the spring screws could reach it.
