So I have a dell xps 9560 Intel Core i7 7700HQ @ 2.80GHz gtx 1050. I just bought the DellS2719DGF. They are connected via the Dell TB16 thunderbolt 3 dock (displayport).

My hope was to be able to play rocket league on mostly low settings on a 27 inch monitor at 1440p and push the frame rate past 60.

Ive tried overclocking/freesync and setting it at 155hz and also just freesync and no overclock at 144hz. I am getting higher frame rates but also dropping (a lot) down in to the 20-40 range. Its making the game unplayable.

I imagine I am missing something in the settings just not sure what. Or perhaps my hardware is the bottleneck?

I am wondering if I should return this monitor and just get a 60hz ips and continue to play at 60hz. If it is in fact due to the hardware and not just me not being able to configure things properly

I've gotten freesync and overclock to work...sort of. I get up to like 120 frames per second and the game looks incredible...for about 2-3 minutes then the whole system lags and the fps drops to like 40 and below

Not sure what to do
