I have an HP pavilion p6-2107c desktop with integrated Radeon HD 6530D graphics. I've installed a GeForce GT730 video card into the provided expansion slot, but the machine defaults to the integrated graphics on power up (it does not recognize the new hardware).

Here's the problem: There is no way I can see in the BIOS to change this. Is there a back-door? Is it even possible to install a video card in this machine?? HP support is useless.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure the GPU is the the top slot, The option in Bios may be under another option as I vaguely remember seeing something about default graphics drivers a LOOOONG time ago, didn't even know that was a thing anymore, most plug and play.

Oh and I've also seen onboard working when the GPU is not needed but the GPU working in applications. Install the Nvidia drivers and control panel and from there you should be able to set a preference for the GPU.
