I have a Radeon r7 250x that I am trying to plug into an AMD am1m-s2h motherboard. I have been having trouble with it for a long time because I was under the impression that all I needed to do was slide it into the MB and thats it. I was wrong. I was getting a red light on my card that I now know know is supposed to be green. I think the way to fix this (other than the things I've already tried like updating drivers and whatnot) is to plug in a six pin cable. I have no extra 6 pin cables so I will have to get one but I don't know where to plug the other end of the cable into. Does it go somewhere on the motherboard or to the power supply? My power supply is a Corsair cx600m. Any help is appriciated, I just want to get this working properly.

yes, you need to plug in a six pin in order for that gpu to work. the six pin will come from the power supply. if you have an available slot in the psu then all you need is the cable. if you dont then you can buy an adapter/splitter to run off of one of your other plugs. do some more research and make sure whatever plug you choose to run off can handle the extra power. i would imagine you would only want to use a 6pin or higher.
