Hello, I'm not sure if it's my asus p5n-d motherboard thats the cause, but it seems to be the onlything I can think of. When I start up the computer with 3 gb of ram I'll get to the "press tab for bios" screen but when i use 4gb of ram it wont show a picture, and this is only with the hdd disconnected from the sata slot...the bios beep also doesn't come up, any help..?

Here is a quote from the manafactuer.

4 x DIMM, Max. 8 GB, DDR2 800/667/533 Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel memory architecture
* Refer to www.asus.com or user manual for Memory QVL (Qualify Vendor List)
**When installing total memory of 4GB capacity or more, Windows 32-bit operation system may only recognize less than 3GB. Hence, a total installed memory of less than 3GB is recommended.

What version of windows are you using?

windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. I switched cases yesterday and I'm thinking I might have short circuited something important...because it was working perfectly fine before. now I just want to know what ><

That shouldn't be the problem, it'a an Antec case and its the same build on the inside as my old case. I'm ready to give up, everything is plugged in exactly as it should be, turn on the power, and nothing comes up on the monitor. The bios doesn't start up, no beeping. :/ even without a HDD connected.
