I built a PC last month. I ordered all the parts online and assembled it myself in my apartment. I had never done this before, but I sent my part list a friend who works for an IT company and he said everything was compatible. Everything is running great I have been able to troubleshoot all issues except for one.
I have an SSD (Silicon Power S60 3K P/E Cycle Toggle MLC 2.5" 120GB 7mm SATA III 6Gb/s Internal Solid State Drive) with the OS installed onto it (Windows 8.1), and for files I have a hybrid drive (Seagate Hybrid Drives ST1000LM014 1TB MLC/8GB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s NCQ 2.5" Laptop SSHD -Bare Drive).
I have been trying to set them up since I built my PC but there is a problem. When I go into Disk Management I cannot see the Seagate hybrid drive. It is visible in device management, and from the BIOS, but I cannot get it to appear in Disk Management.
I have tried rescanning for disks, I have rewired, I even reinstalled the OS, but nothing has worked. I am at a loss as to how to make the drive detectable by disk management. I have switched my BIOS to AHCI mode from IDE but that did not help. I followed all the steps on this page (http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/265764-32-guide-installed-disk-system)
If anyone knows anything about this issue, some assistance would be appreciated.
