Trying to connect xbox 360 wireless controller to pc using xbox adapter .

I am trying to use the adapter that i usually plug in the xbox . It works there. Does it work for pc too or we need a different adapter for it.

Thats the adapter. I have tried installing software from xbox but no good.

That is the wireless internet adapter... That's the reason why it's not working with your controller.

The Xbox 360 console doesn't require a separate wireless adapter for the controller.

Just FYI, those adapters are $12-13 shipped on eBay for the same "Microsoft" ones. They have generic ones listed as well slightly cheaper if you really search, but I usually buy the supposed OEM ones. I have 4 in the house, one on each PC, never a problem out of any of them.
