Trying to decide between two SSD options.

Alright, I'm looking at PCI-e SSDs for a new build, but I can't decide between two options. One: Getting an SSD which is already set up with it's own adapter from M.2 to PCI-e (like this) or getting an independent M.2 to PCI-e adapter card (like this) and then getting a different M.2 SSD to install into it.

I've been trying to do some research into this, but I've been having trouble finding information. Are there any meaningful differences between these two options?

There is no difference between the two adapter cards in the links you provided. The adapter cards are just simple pass-through cards. The adapter cards do not do anything else and do not affect performance.
