This has been a pretty big headache for me as ive seen several with great reviews.

As far as usage... i do some decent gaming, i dont typically care to do super on first person shooters, but i also enjoy watching bluray with my mother on my pc. So something with good viewing angles but overall good in these areas

Limit is $300 but would prefer less if possible.

The ones i have saved on my wishlist over at newegg seem ok to me but without a visual aside from video reviews , its hard to mess with anything sadly, our closest best buy doesnt carry either of these

BenQ GW2760HS
Asus PA248Q

If you have any ideas what fits my needs please share.

I currently am on a Vizio 22" E220VA which works fantastic, but ive had it nearly four years now... im worried it will go out before long , so even an hdtv would work on the list.

I was thinking that too.

My tv is a VA panel i believe, so should be fairly similar in that regard too. Saving money is always nice too

Only other problem is pixel density being an issue since its 27"

That's not a very good choice for a monitor slightly under $200... at least make it a decent IPS panel monitor and not a TN panel monitor. IPS monitors can be had for cheap now. Slightly under $200 the IPS panel monitor of choice would be the Asus VN238H-P. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236335&cm_re=vn248h-p-_-24-236-335-_-Product

However, the Asus monitor he mentioned already is very nice with an IPS panel at 1920x1200 resolution (16:10 ratio) and has 100% sRGB color reproduction.

I even asked Vizio about which hdtv would be suitable or is similar in regards to tech to my tv, they linked me http://www.vizio.com/tvs/e241ib1.html that lol

Think ill just do the VN238H-P, need a better power supply and getting the cheaper monitor may allow me to get both a lot sooner :)

Good choice. I think you'll like it a lot and it's fairly cheap for a 23.8 inch IPS monitor.
