Hey Guys, I am putting together a parts list for a new gaming PC. Having trouble deciding on a few of them and what is necessary or just for looks. I would like a quite machine with plenty of power.

■ I am upgrading because my old PC is underpowered and getting outdated. Was using a gtx770 and it will not play Cod AW very well currently.

■ I am planning to buy the parts slowly over the next 2-3 months and try to find good deals on them if possible.

■ I don't have a set budget, hard to set a limit but would like to stay around $1500 before a monitor. (Lower is better though??)

■ Everything will be new except for my OS. Keeping my current Windows 10

■ Prefer Newegg, Amazon, Ncix for my parts but willing to go elsewhere.

Parts List

-CPU: I am looking to buy an Intel i5 6600k $220. Is there any reason I should look to a different one? Maybe the 6700k i7? (How Useful is overclocking? Is it something I should give a go or just run stock?)

-RAM: Kingston 2x8 HyperX Fury DDR4-2133 $50 (Already Purchased
[Best friend's order got doubled by accident])

-SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5" $155 (Would a M.2 drive be worth the money for the Upgrade?)

-CPU Cooler: Open for discussion. Cannot figure out what will be useful and what's overkill. I have been looking at the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo ($25)

-Case: Fractal Design Refine R4 (Currently only $69.99 on Newegg)

-GPU: GTX 1080 as soon as the price drops down some. Do not want a FE (Not wanting SLI since the 1080 will be powerful enough) (hoping for $600)

-PSU: How important is my choice of efficiency? 80+ gold? Or is bronze gonna be ok?? Wanting to stay as cheap as possible here but still be of good quality. Power draw is showing to be low for a this system. Not sure how big a PSU I need with no plans for SLI

-MOBO: I cannot decide what I do or don't need in a Mobo. Wanting cheap as I can go without losing functionality. I have been looking at these 2 Mobo. Am I in the right spot at all?
ASrock z170 Pro4S Currently $83
Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI currently $117

For $83 will the ASrock work for me since I don't want to go SLI??

-Case Fans: What are some good case fans for being quiet and cooling efficiently?? And how many for this case and application??

Sorry if I have not formatted this correctly or am in the wrong place this is my first post. I have read hundreds of them though. Please help me if you can.

The CPU is an i7 6700, so while lacking the ability to overclock, it makes up for it in raw speed. It will be fine for any gaming you decide to do, and you would see a small margin of improvement with an unlocked i7.
The motherboard is cheap, offers m.2 support, USB 3.0, and a great BIOS menu.
I would definitely go for an m.2 SSD, as the speeds are much faster than regular 2.5" drives. The 950 Pro I have listed is over four times faster than the 850 EVO you had previously listed. Source Link
The GTX 1080 I have listed is a blower style cooler, so it won't be as efficient as some of the other aftermarket coolers. That said, they are also likely over $700, and currently unavailable.
The power supply is made with high quality components, and a great model. It is rated top tier by the PSU tier list.
Since you have a new motherboard, you cannot reuse your operating system.

Hope this answered your question!

Actually if you want to overclock, I would choose ASrock even it was at same price.
If you dont need the aditional features that comes at the extra cost, go with them.

The i7 comes with a stock cooler which will be fine for operation. If you're set on having another one, go ahead, but keep in mind that the i7 6700 lacks overclocking. Therefore a new cooler is only necessary if you want to decrease noise.
CPU Cooler: CRYORIG H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($43.45 @ OutletPC)

EDIT:
Buying a CPU cooler will NOT increase performance of the CPU.

I think you get a better value. When purchasing the 6600k, you will need to account for cooling it, powering it with a proper power supply, obtaining a good motherboard for over clocking, ect. The 6700, by default, has a higher clock speed than the i5. The secondary benefit of an i7 is if you ever decide to use your PC as a workstation. An i7 will decimate any i5 when it comes to rendering, exporting, or calculations.

It's up to you, the i5, over clocked well, will out perform the i7. That said, the FPS difference will be negligible at best, and in some cases, the i7 will still come out on top. Personally, I don't find over clocking as important as it used to be, simply because of how GPU optimized games have become.
You will be fine with either, I'm just providing a different outlook on how to build your system.

I appreciate the outlook, thinking I will get the 6700. I am looking to do some audio recording and mixing this winter with it so the i7 should help me there. Just wasn't sure that cheap Mobo would be good enough for what I need. I tend to over research and be skeptical about PC parts for sure.

The B150 board I recommended is fine, it offers m.2 support and great BIOS. Only feature missing is USB 3.1, but I hardly ever transfer data via USB anymore.
