Trying to install Windows 8.1 on Samsung 850 Evo m.2

I am trying to install win 8.1 to samsung evo 850 m.2, Do i need to install via USB when installing to M.2 as i have a optical drive installed and when i change setting to detect M.2 my optical drive is no longer there :S

Your motherboard likely just reroutes a SATA port to the M2 (or several if it's PCIe over M2), simply read your manual and connect the optical drive to a different SATA port
