Question Trying to prevent TeamViewer from saying "Commercial Use Detected"

I'm trying to connect my phone to my laptop back at the place I'm staying at and unfortunately it tells me that there is "Commercial Use Detected" and then it quits me out after 5 minutes and doesn't let me reconnect until after a long time later. I've been using TeamViewer for over a decade and I've never had this problem. I tried reinstalling the software on both devices as well as trying to reclaim the free version on their website. Unfortunately when that happened they got back to me and said that they cannot confirm that my ID is being used privately. They also encouraged me to purchase a license in order to get it working, and I've never had to pay for TeamViewer in all the years I've used it.

If someone could help me get TeamViewer to work again on the free version I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

I gave up on TeamViewer several years ago, for exactly this.

Connecting between my main PC and HTPC, 15 feet apart...."Commercial Use"
This came and went, until I just got tired of it.

Currently using TightVNC.

As far as actual remote use, I can understand wanting Team Viewer or similar to work the "way it used to". Perhaps the mobile part is throwing me, but for things local I don't personally have anything that cannot be handled by way of File Sharing and FDC. All you need is the Pro license on the machines you wish to actually remote desktop.

Of course, that solution doesn't work well for certain applications within the remote enviro, or anything that isn't LAN.

i got ticked off the other day when i kept getting this popup message

so i re-downloaded splashtop and my problem was solved, but if one of my PC's is connected to a VPN then obviously it will say i need the access anywhere pack.

so its a win-win!

No idea, but I wouldn't count on it.

My point was mainly....abandon TeamViewer.
Well the problem seems to have gone away for now. It did resurface for a little bit like a month ago, but if it happens again I will maybe get rid of TeamViewer.

For smartphone:

Try AnyDesk (for my personal family member help, used on PC & Android before)
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=anydesk&c=apps&hl=en_US

Google Remote Desktop is free for commercial use too(PC experience only)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.chromeremotedesktop&hl=en_US
https://support.google.com/chrome/a...e-remote-desktop-for-commercial-purpose?hl=en

No port forwarding required for both.
I might try AnyDesk and see if that works. I appreciate the help.

Yeah but thankfully TeamViewer just started working again for me out of nowhere so it seems like the problem is resolved for now.

What's Splashtop?
