My friend's mac book's motherboard just stopped working a few days ago. But all of her files are still on it and she needs to get them back. I have a USB to SATA connector and plugged it in even with power through the hard drive it never shows up, not even a non-recognizable drive icon just nothing. Then I put it directly into my computer to see if it would show up but it does not. Although when it is all plugged in it makes me go through my bios and my bios does not work correctly so it is definitely being seen by the computer but never shows up. Does anyone have an answer for me?

I'm in windows 10 with a desktop computer with installed windows not OEM.
I tried using HFSExplorer but it does not recognize the drive because it never appears to exist through windows.

Just to be clear:
Macbook pro older because the battery and ram are removable.
Hitachi hard drive

Go to windows Disk Manager and see if the drive is listed there. If it is then read the link below.

If not then something might be wrong with the drive.
