trying to upgrade my ram

When installed my 8 gigs of ddr3 ram a yellow light comes on my pc and does a loud beeeeeep, beeeeeep sound . I have tried 2x4 gig sticks of ram and i have tried an 8 gig stick. All ddr3 of course i have tried running parralell in white slots and also with the black slots.
