Hello!
I currently bought a new graphics card, the AMD Sapphire PULSE RX 580 8GB OC. I then checked it through PC Part Picker site, and it said everything should work fine, but when I started to switch my graphics card today, I noticed a problem. I use XILENCE 550W Power Supply XN056.

While the basic appearance was similar, the internal pins looked similar; the pins surroundings looked slightly different. So do I need to get a new power supply if I want to use the new graphics card?
Sorry, my bad. The previous card was GTX1650 4gb.

it looks to me like your +2 is on the wrong side of the 6 pin. that's why the 2 pins on the left of your pic are upside down. (the curved part is facing opposite the others) hence it likely does not fit into the card's connector correctly.

anyone else see this as well?

they should detach easily from the main 6 pin and then attach it to the other side of it so the little curves on each pin all face the same way.
So I can use the old PCIe cable on the new CPU as well, without any problems? I ask because in one YouTube video the guy who had a similar problem used it and went ahead and ruined a video card that way! He later had to use pcie extension on a next card to make it work normally.

The question was: do I need a new PSU? Well yes, because the current PSU is a terrible unit. No new GPU without a new and decent PSU.
No. The question was in regards to the PCIe connector.

I agree that the PSU is terrible. If you felt the need to point that out, you should have offered a suggestion to go with it. Or at least ask the OP if he/she has a budget for a replacement.

Definitely something that someone could do. There should be little tabs on the +2 part to align it with the 6-pin part of the connector.

that stood out to me when looking at the pics. it is clearly on the wrong side of the 6 pin.

but the OP does not actually specify what the issue is, only "I noticed a problem"

so my educated guess is the problem is the connector does not fit right and the problem is the extra 2 pins are on the wrong side :)

the 1650 likely only needed a 6 pin so i am guessing he added the 2 pins and didn't quite do it right.

Another possibility. The end of the connector that attaches to the GPU is standard.

We don't need to confuse matters otherwise. Whether the +2 part is reversed or the wrong side of the 6+2 was attempted to be connected to a 6-pin PCIe connector, that end of the connection is still standard.

Right?

yah the 6 pin part is standard if i understand you're question. so is the +2, other than the fact it will usually snap onto either side of the 6 pin. though i have seen some which slide on and can only go on one way due to the groove only being on one side of the 6 pin.

i know i did the same thing at least once over the years. live and learn kind of thing. :)
