TS 2000 Fail Over - Is this possible?

We have a TS running on a Win2K server. Once in a while, it locks up and
requires a reboot. Meanwhile all of the users are down. Is there any way
of setting up a fail-over server to handle the users while our main TS
reboots? If so, could someone point me to the correct instructions?
TIA.

You can install a second TS and configure Network Load Balancing
to let them share the user load. Note that if server1 dies, the
users running a session on that server will still be thrown out of
their rdp session. But when they try to reconnect, they will be
able to start a new session on server2. If you want to maintain
the same performance during the time that one of the servers is
down, both servers need to be able to handle the maximum number of
concurrent users.

If this is a 'hard' lockup IE mouse and keyboard on the TS machine cease
operation, caps lock / Ins keys stop responding then it sounds like a
hardware fault. Does memtest86 run OK on the machine? If there is a lot of
memory (> 512MB - ok not a lot these days) then you should consider ECC
memory for such a critical system. You should be able to run for months
running TS without a reboot - although many will advise that a routine
restart is a good idea.

I would suggest you invest some time in getting the hardware fault in your
TS machine seen to.
