With a potential world conflict on the horizon, it's crucial to recognize the limited number of foundries capable of producing top-tier semiconductor chips. Given the strategic importance of Taiwan in the global semiconductor industry and China's capability to blockade or invade the region, proactive measures were essential a decade ago. Now, it is imperative that we urgently bolster our domestic chip manufacturing capabilities to mitigate these geopolitical risks.
 
TSMC was delusional at thinking they were receiving the billions of dollars without having to readjust their management style and accepting the work ethic of americans - which is not to say they have a low work ethic as they still work more days a year than in many first world countries - just different environment than the desperation in Taiwan.

Training to not yell at workers in public? Yeah, this reminds me that a lot of the engineers are people who spent so much of their life in the academic environment that they already put up with more than the average US citizen would. If my boss yelled at me in public, nobody else would have to tell him that was a mistake. He'd realize immediately.
