CPU: 3570k

Okay, so the other day, I was tweaking my BIOS, and had to clear the CMOS after a failed start.

Once it came back, I found that my "Turbo Multiplier", as well as several other options, had completely vanished. There was also a new option added. "ASUS Multi-Core Optimization" or something like that. I could change the multiplier, but only up to 34. (I was at 45 before.)

So anyway, first thing I do is flash a new BIOS on there, but the problem persisted. Cleared CMOS again to no avail.

Here are some of the options I've considered after reading around:

-Reseat the processor. It'll say "found new processor" and will have to rescan the features of the 3570K.

-RMA

-Something to do with flashing the Intel Management Engine (ME).

I haven't tried these yet because I'm not home. But has anyone experienced this or has someone who got it solved?

Yes, that's the one that is limited to 34. So it's basically running as though turbo mode (and thus overclocking) is disabled.

Tried:
-Enable/Disable C-states
-Enable/Disable Turbo and EIST
-Reflashed BIOS Cleared CMOS
-Checked for all three areas of CPU control
>AI Tweaker: No turbo Ratio available
>AI Tweaker\CPU power management: Limited to 34
>Advanced/Advanced CPU settings/Power management: Limited to 34 as well.

Download this BIOS flasher: http://www.ami.com/support/downloads/amiflash.zip
In the zip, navigate to: amiflash\Aptio\AFUWIN
Depending on your OS architecture, either open the 64 or 32 folder
Open the zip in the folder you just opened
Extract the folder within the zip
Either restart your computer or close every application that's running, this step is important!
Click "Open" then browse to the latest BIOS file
Under the Setup tab, tick the "Program All Blocks" check box (see below image)

that's it :)

Thanks very much, bloodpain!!
Successfully recovered my P8Z77-V's bios which had become corrupted - had no 'turbo ratio' or iGPU function and setting memory above 1333Mhz always caused overclock failure.

Note - Location of AMI flasher has now changed to https://ami.com/?AMIBIOS_and_Aptio_AMI_Firmware_Update_Utility.zip
