Hi,
I liked SomeJoe7777 answer to fully switch on / off the power supply to the HDD with a 6-connector switch. But, even if the power is off, the sata signals coming from the MotherBoard to the HDD are still on. Can these signals getting to the HDD with HDD powered off cause Wear / damage:
1. To HDD board ?
2. To MotherBaord ?
3. To the power supply ?
P.S, even though there are products in the market that switch off only one of the wires, or some of them, doesn't mean they do it the safest and non-wear way (they may have other considerations which may relate to noise, simplicity, price, ... )
