Question Turn tv screen into monitor

I have a 4k tv that has failed and is out of warranty. I want to use it as a PC display.
The mainboard has failed but the screen is fine. I have seen people turn old laptop displays into monitors. I was wondering if the same adapter boards will work with my TV's screen.

Overall, I recommend trying to get a new monitor if at all possible and not trying get the failed 4k tv to work.

Likely (being out of warranty) that something else will fail at the cost of the adapter board and associated time & effort.

Just properly recycle the old tv and enjoy a new monitor that has a warranty.

The TV motherboard is what drives the screen.

If that has died, there is no other option.

What may have happened with a failed laptop is not the same as what is happening with your failed TV.
