Yesterday I bought a new headset, the Turtle Beach PX22's, to use primarily with my PS3. Everything is plugged in correctly into my console with the headset connected to the in-line amplifier with the mic on. When I go into Settings > Accessory Settings > Audio Devices and select my Turtle Beach headset as the Input and Output device and talk into the mic I don't see the audio levels moving nor can I hear myself in the headset, which is a feature called mic monitoring. However, I am able to hear the games sounds; only the mic doesn't work.
I tried plugging in my headset into my laptop to test the mic and just like my PS3, the mic doesn't work while the sounds do. I setup everything correctly in the sound panel by selecting my headset both in the Playback device and Recording device as the default one, but with no avail.
The funny thing about this is that my old headsets, the dreamGear PS3 Elite Gaming Headset's, had the same problem: I could hear the sounds coming from the tv, but not talk into the mic. So I'm not sure here if the problem is with my headsets or my PS3 and PC?
If anyone has any suggestions as to what I could do to fix the problem I would gladly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.
