Turtle Beach X12 problem

hey guys. i just bought the Turtle Beach x12s from my local walmart. however, when i try to listen to music or game audio with them it sounds extremely quite and faint, almost unnoticeable its so quite. i have my dials on the inline thing all the way turned up, and i have my sound all the way to the max. i went to Recording and turned the mic all the way up, along with the boost at the max. i can hear my breathing sometimes in the headset from the mic. im not sure why i can hear myself through the mic and no audio from music or games.

anyway, any help would be great. thanks guys.

configure them in Realtek sometimes they can be automatically turned down low. If it isnt that then you may have a deficient headset 🙁

have you got any other headphones you can try in your computer.
If different phones are loud then your new ones may be faulty.

i found a solution, it wasn't this. this happens way to much. i just plugged the cables into the wrong jacks.

im colorblind though so i have an excuse. i cant tell the difference in the cables xD

well, i usually have someone help me put them in because i am colorblind and cant tell the difference. but before everyone left my house i had someone tell me which was which but i dropped them and got confused xD then i tried them in both jacks but neither worked, and i just gave up now that people returned to help i got it up and running

next time that happens, look closely at the jacks, the mic has a raised mic symbol, and the headphones have a sunken semi-circle. thought that might help.
