Tutorial on how to connect a gtx 770 to PSU?

OK I know I sound like an idiot but could someone post a tutorial or write in their own words how to connect the 6 and 8 pin connector cables to and from the card to the PSU. Pictures would be good as I have so many friggin cables!

lmao! dude just plug in the gtx 770 to the PCI-E card line and then screw it in, after get your 2 6 pin or 8 pin connectors then find the connecting sopts on your GPU and plug it in, also make sure your PSU has a 6 or 8 pin connector and its at least 700W and more its really simple upgrading a GPU

It depends on what psu you have. Generally speaking, you should have two or more cords that each contain one or two PEG connectors. A PEG connector is recognized by a six pin plug that has an associated two pin plug dangling next to it. If you are using a modular supply, the cord will originate at a port called PCI-e on the power supply.

If you can tell me the make and model of your psu, I can tell you what to look for.

The cooler master 750 has four PCI-e lines, each of which carries one 6+2 pin PEG connector. Most 770's use one six pin and one 8 pin. Choose any two of the PCI-e lines, install the gpu in the uppermost pci-e lane (closest to cpu), plug in one line use both the six pin plus the two pin into the 8 pin connector, and plug just the 6 pin portion of the second line into the 6 pin connector. Let the 2pin portion of the second line "dangle" - it will be unused.

I have a 2GB GAINWARD GTX770 PHANTOM GPU and a 600W Seasonic PSU (SS-600HM Active PFC F3 (Ball bearing)), I also have an 8pin to PCI-E 8pin(6+2) connector. Is it the wrong cable do i need another cable as well or do i need a different PSU? I know it's not my original question but please can you help thanks

Your gpu requires one 6 pin and one 8 pin connector and a power supply capable of 42 amps. The Seasonic psu you have is capable of 48 amps, and the supplied cables include two 6 pin and one 6+2 (8 pin) connectors. In your case you would use one of the 6 pin connnectors and the 6+2 pin connector.

One note of caution - your psu is set up in a 4 rail configuration. Each of your 12v rails is capable of providing 18 amps, so you need to be sure each of the connectors you uses a different rail. My suggestion is to plug one connector into the top slot and the other into the bottom slot.

Other than that, you should be good to go with that psu. In the future, if you replace the psu, look for a unit that has a single 12v rail - that way you know high current will be available in one location.

hi reading article on connecting gtx to power supply i find myself in similar situation .and i want to be 100 % certain.i can not afford a mistake. presently installed a hx1050 power supply .and i have 2 gtx 770.hope to sli them .the unite has 2 pci out 6 pin with option on 8 pin connector two of them that is what is installed on psu. .now i am planing on using one connector on each and use the 8 pin from power supply to cards .but which is were i am not sure .does it mater if 6 pin on left and 8 pin on right .that is facing card reading label left to right . once again i want to conect present pci 6 pin with option of 8 onto left slot and then install 8 pin labeled CPU onto right and connect to psu as well and repeat this for second card .please advise thank you

i believe i should look before write .but getting confused since old psu has multy 6pin option 8 . the new only has two which made this simpler .thank you .and any advise .appreciated.
