If I set my PC's graphics settings to high or ultra-high at 1440p native resolution, how will TV AI upscaling to 4k compare to GPU upscaling (such as the 5080's DLSS4)?

The below is from MS Copilot. Any thoughts on these TVs in particular?

"Here are the most advanced TVs from LG, Samsung, and Sony that offer 4K upscaling and are suitable for gaming:
  1. LG G4 OLED Series:
    • Features the α11 AI Processor with AI Super Upscaling 4K technology.
    • 144Hz refresh rate and support for NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium.
    • Brightness Booster Max technology for vibrant visuals.
  2. Samsung S95F OLED:
    • Equipped with the NQ4 AI-powered processor for improved upscaling and HDR tone mapping.
    • 165Hz refresh rate for ultra-smooth gaming.
    • QD-OLED panel for enhanced brightness and color accuracy.
  3. Sony A95L QD-OLED:
    • Utilizes the Cognitive Processor XR for exceptional 4K upscaling.
    • Outstanding color accuracy and luminance.
    • Game mode with features like VRR and ALLM for seamless gaming.
These models represent the cutting edge of technology for gaming and upscaling. Let me know if you'd like more details about any of them!"

The biggest thing about using TV scaling is that it probably only works on low (60 less) FPS. It is designed for video. Those monitors may have 144+ refresh but that may not be supported by upscaling.

Not always. Higher end TVs like the G4 can upscale and add Frame smoothing in gaming mode but I highly advise against it. The GPU will. Do. Infinitely better in both scenarios. TV will have to anticipate based on an already delayed signal as where the GPU already has the next frames queued and can on the fly alter them
