TV As Monitor doesn't look good!

OK, so I just finished building my rig, with My Nvidia GT630 2GB, and I plugged the HDMI from the card into my television HDMI port, Turned the computer on and the screen wasn't even aligned let alone looking nice, so I continued to install the Nvidia Drivers and I had to custom align the resolution, now its something like 1804x1014, nothing near 1080i which it does support, as I had my PS3 connected to it, after I set the right resolution, the screen just looks horrible, not crisp but pixely, any help would be greatly accepted to solve this frustrating problem! Would you mind telling us a bit more? What particular TV do you have? How big (50 inch, 55 inch)? What kind (LCD, LED, Plasma)? How far away are you sitting?

This all factors in and I'll tell you why. Certain TV's just look better, so that may be affecting your problem. Size affects the density and size of the individual pixels (because a 19 inch 1080p TV has the same number of pixels as a 55 inch 1080p TV; 1080p refers to the resolution of the display in terms of number of pixels, in this case 1920 pixels wide X 1080 pixels tall). If you are trying to sit really close to your TV, the you may see the pixel size, but unfortunately those cannot be changed.

You did say that your resolution is now 1804X1014, and, I assumed you tried this but if not right click on your desktop background, select screen resolution, and move the slider all the way to 1920X1080. Click apply and hope it works. Also, 1804X1014 is really quite close to 1920X1080, however the effect you may be experiencing may be due to the alternate resolution being scaled to the 1080p display size, which would make the resolution you see terrible (like watching 720p things on a 1080p screen would). The test for this would be too look for space on the sides of your screen that your TV could be but is not using. If there is space, then odds are you are looking at a 1:1 scale, if the entire screen is filled then you may in fact be viewing a non-1:1 scale.
