I currently have a Sony 4K TV, an older 2016 (I think) top of the line model. But just recently like a year or so ago, I discovered it’s acting weird.

Every time I attempt to start my TV, which is usually during night times or so, it doesn’t switch on, and the only way for me to start it again is by plugging the power cable out, leaving it out for a minute and then plugging it back in. It wont allow me at this point to start it with my remote, so I have to find the power button at the back and boom it’s on in all its glory again.

Can someone enlighten me as to why this keeps happening every night, because it really gets frustrating having to get under my desk every night and reach my fingers into almost inaccessible places in order to turn my TV on..

The specs and model are located in this page,

I also run an Apple TV 4K alongside it, figured maybe it has something to do with it and is a common cause.
Any insights into this issue will be appreciated😅

Unsure but if it’s a smart TV you might have it check to see if there are any firmware updates for it. I have a cheap Polaroid 49 inch that would act that way. The fix I came up with was to put a power strip on top of the desk for just that TV and turn the power strip off when not using the TV, then flip on the strip when I got ready to watch. Easier than fiddling under the table. Not sure why my Polaroid acted that way but the behavior changed when I got a 65 inch vizio later on.

Something like this might do the trick so you don’t have to crawl under the desk.

I have made sure I have all the latest updates but it did not do a single difference. I understand I should plug it out when not using it, but it removes the whole point of having an apple tv and Hdmi CEC that can completely steer from phone or controller. I really don’t understand how it just like that became an issue, must be something I can solve I figure, but I can’t find what it is…
