TV video input flickers

Hello. Recently my TV has been starting to do a strange video flicker after I watch TV for a certain amount of time. The friend who originally gave me the TV said him and his girlfriend got in a fight and someone ended up punching the TV and he said it was broken. The only thing wrong with it was the HDMI port which I had ways of getting around using. Normally the flicker happens after about 30 minutes and after I just turn off the wii I was watching netflix on and unplug the video cable it will work again in another 30 minutes after unplugging it. As well sometimes I can shake the TV and it will work again with no problems for a while. I assume this is caused by some sort of loose socket or something like that but I would like to hear someone else's input before I go opening up the TV. The TV worked for the first month of use without problem. The problem also occurs using the VGA port which I used as a work around to plug in certain devices. Anyone have any ideas?

What do you mean under video cable? Is this the antenna input? What's the brand/model of the TV?

I think it's not because of a broken socket (antenna, VGA), because the antenna input comes directly into the tuner but the VGA is solded directly on the board. If the problem was some socket (antenna's for example), there wouldn't be a problem with the VGA port. The problem is somewhere after the I/O module. I don't think you can repair the TV at home, all you can do is open the case and see if there's something broken on the PCB's.

I believe that it's a Westinghouse LTV-32W6: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889234028 . It's the yellow RCA port. For some reason the problem hasn't occurred for the last day + 1/2. I feel like it had something to do with heat maybe because, as strange as this sounds, I can sometimes blow on the cable and it will work again. I'm not sure what an "under video cable" is, as I reread my post and I don't see me saying anything about an under video cable.

I was meaning which video cable do you plug/unplug, but now you gave me the answer, it's the yellow chinch (that's how we call the RCA sockets).

The only thing you can do at home is to open the case and look up for broken solders on the same board where the RCA/VGA sockets are. Some of them (of the solders) are pretty small so you may use magnifying glass. If you find some solder broken, just resold it with low-power soldering iron and then try again.

If the problem remains, the situation is serious and needs a qualified intervention.
