So I currently have a dual channel kit of 8gb (4x2) and I would like to add another dual channel kit, another 8gb (4x2) same specs and all. Or should I get the same dual channel pair that I currently have?

Your best bet would likely be to go with an identical kit, but be aware that even then they may or may not play together nicely. Memory sticks that are sold together in a kit have been tested by the manufacturer and are guaranteed to work together, but there's no such guarantee with two kits purchased separately, even if they're the same brand and model number; memory can be very finicky that way. (It isn't always, but the only way to be sure with any given sticks of memory is to try it.)

If you plug in a second kit and it doesn't want to work, the big guns here may be able to help you adjust the timing to get it running, but again, no guarantees.
its suggested to get the same exact kit that you already have. you shouldn't have any problems this way but nothing is guaranteed.

it CAN work if you mix and match different kits, but it is definitely not recommended. i've done it before, its just luck of the draw.
