Probably been asked a thousand times, but I cannot find a precise answer.

I have two BT fibre connections to an office. One for the PC network and one for our VOIP phone system. I have a single HP ProCurve 24 port switch. Can I have PC LAN on one subnet, and VOIP system on another, put them both into the switch and have one subnet to each of the fibre connections? I don't want to combine the two internet connections - they are intended to remain separate.

Answers on a postcard to...

Ideal, and thanks for responding so quickly! Assuming HP have the info available I'll have a dig through it tomorrow.

Thanks again!

Assuming you have routers on each fiber connection the procurve will allow you run 2 different vlans in effect making it appear as 2 different switches.
There are so many models of 24 port procurve but all support vlans.

The main function a switch does not support is NAT which is why you must have a router between the switch and the internet connection.
