Two graphics cards, no SLI, can I run two monitors from each card?

So yeah, as the tittle says, if I have 2 graphics cards (identical or not), without SLI, can i have dual monitors by connecting each monitor to each card? will this work?
By dual monitor, as in i can like move my cursor from one monitor to the other

Your goal is 4 monitors, each card working with 2? Because if only 2 monitors total, there's no need to use 2 cards.
With Win 10 running multiple monitors in extended mode is quite simple task. Running 2 different cards is also possible, although sometimes installing drivers for them can be a challenge, but that depends on what GPU you plan to use.
