Hi,
I have a Raid 0 configuration running 2x 120gb SSD and windows 7 that works no problem. In BIOS I obviously have SATA mode in raid and the two SSD drives show up in Boot select menu as "Intel Volume 0"
I then wanted to install a third 500gb SSD and use that alone in AHCI mode to install another windows 7 OS. So I physically connected the SSD and disconnected the two other SSD's. I then entered BIOS and changed SATA mode to AHCI and inserted Windows 7 DVD. I also ensured boot priority was set such that the new 500gb SSD was first boot able device. I then saved and exited bios and booted computer. Windows 7 then installed onto my new 500gb SSD and the operating system loaded fine. I then shut down and re connected my two old SSD to their corresponding SATA ports and then entered BIOS. I changed back to RAID configuration and set "Intel Volume 0" top of boot priority, then saved and exited BIOS. I was then able to boot my my pre-existing windows 7 installation in RAID.
So it seemed like I now had two separate operating systemp installed, one in RAID 0 and the other in AHCI. However, I then tried to load my new windows 7 install after reselecting AHCI mode and ensuring my new 500gb SSD was top of boot priority but it won't load and it says it can't find boot able device.
I'd really appreciate if anyone can help point me in the direction and tell me what I may have done wrong. Thanks
