Would two r9 290x run 3 1920x1080 monitors playing BF 4 at ultra, or should i get three 280x to have 3gb of Vram per screen.

Solution

i saw something earlier today in which a guy ran 3x 4k resolution monitors on battlefield 4 on ultra on 2x 290x's in crossfire and was getting over 60fps. im pretty sure one card can handle 3x 1080p montitors by itself. hell my old uberclocked HIS radeon ice q turbo card can handle 3x 1080p monitors with skyrim on maxed settings with a minimum fps of 26 and thats a 2gig/384bit bandwidth card.

beastly card for what it is, but it is a 40nm card and is a beast but the new 290x's shred games..

i been playing battlefield 4 beta in eyefinity with my 6970 and been getting 25-40fps on high settings with it. also...

i been playing battlefield 4 beta in eyefinity with my 6970 and been getting 25-40fps on high settings with it. also helps that i have a 4.4ghz oc fx 8350 cpu. 16gig of ddr3 ram (2x 8 gig) an asus sabertooth 990fx gen3 R2.0 mobo, and a samsung 840 pro ssd all in a haf-x case so there is no bottleneck in the system to hold my card up.

i have a 290x coming as we speek, should arrive from newegg according to tracking info on saturday/tomorrow. cant wait 😀
