Two routers on one phone line

how to use two routers on one phone line 5 miles apart?the phone co put an off premisise extention in two of my houses miles apart they said i could use the dsl at both location but would have to take my router back and forth can antbody tell me how to set up two routers on the same phone line in laymans terms plz and can both be used at the same time

As the phone company said, you can only connect the router (and modem combo, right?) at one location at a time. You would need to purchase a second DSL line to be able to use it at both locations.

I was racking my brain trying to figure a way around it, but the only way would be to have identical settings on each router and have power running to only one at a time.

phone co aid it wont work cause it had to go through different switch station idk

I thought you said one line is an extension of the other?

yes the extention is having to go through another switch and the tech said the dsl wouldnt work like that what i was saying ive paid for the dsl at location now and they have unhooked the opx but i would love to have the opx dsl worh that would save me money and wouldnt have to pay for internrt there
