[SOLVED] Two RX 480s or a RX 5700 xt

Hi all,
I already have a RX 480 graphics card and i am looking to upgrade and i don't know which to buy another RX 480 for around $160 or a RX 5700 xt for around $550 please help!

2x 480 might come close to an Rx 5700 in some games, though support for xfire or sli in games has been on the decline for awhile. You're better off selling (or keep as spare) the 480 and go for the 5700.

Comparing Witcher 3 which is an addition in both articles, 5700 beats 2x 480 in Techpowerup's crossfire review quite comfortably compare with Guru's numbers. Numbers are a bit different but close enough.

first ditch the idea of crossfire. then think which single GPU will give you the performance that you want.

If crossfire is really not a good idea then it's between a second hand rx 5700xt and a second hand rtx 2060 non super which is around $50 cheaper which one would you advise?

Def the Rx, it's around the level of a GTX 2080

Dunno I've had nothing but problems with my rx5700xt stuttering on ultra 1080p with Ryzen 2600x playing witcher 3 even when overclocking and 16g ram. I'd go with a 2060 super card if I were you.

A 2060 super is a bit pricey and i wouldn't be running at 1440p as my monitor is only 1080p i would mainly be using it for streaming and gaming

Well on ebuyer the replacement one I'm getting palit 2060 s Jetstream is only 350£ with delivery only 50 more than I paid for rx5700 xt. Though I get vat off being in Guernsey. 😀
