Tyan Tank Server reuse issues

I bought a Tyan Tank server board (specifically: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/272181383260?lpid=82&chn=ps&ul_noapp=true) and have not been able to get it working. I immediately get the FF code when I power on the psu, meaning that it is not posting correctly. I have tried resetting the cmos, reseating all the ram, and reseating other plugs. I have the 24pin, 8pin CPU, both CPU fans, VGA, and Sata cable. The only thing I can think of (besides a dead board or CPU(s)) is that there are 2 extra 4 pin connectors on the sides of the 24pin. They are differently colored than the rest of the essential connectors, and I have not been able to get it working if I plugged one into another PSU. Any ideas/help would be super appreciated, as I really don't want to return it! Thanks!!

I was only able to plug in one, since I did not want to break down another system.

Monster.

Check the Tyan website it should have any drivers you need.

If you have a power supply with the 8 and split 8 pin(4+4), I think you can use that.

EDIT
Your SSD needs power too.

haha yeah I figured that out, what drivers would I need? and also which of the "manuals" did you use? The titles arent very descriptive for them.

The manual you want is S5397_UG_v1.3_06212012. The others are for parts of board features.

Depending on the version of Windows you will at least need SATA drivers for the ports in use. These can be installed from a flash drive while installing Windows most of the time. Back with XP it had to be a floppy :)

Once in Windows you can install all the drivers you need(chipset/video/sound/other sata/ect).

im trying to make a usb installer for server 2012, my first attempt didnt work so i am using another method now.

I got that much, I just think the installer was broken. One thing though, do I set the Large disk access mode to DOS or Other?

I think I used DOS, but just finished installing windows and am now "getting devices ready" and restarting, unfortunately this server has to "pass" all of the ram before it loads in (all 32Gb which takes a while lol) and has to tell me that I have a fan error since the board doesnt recognize my 3pin fans on the 4pin headers. But other than that everything is working great so far! Definitely doing this again! (I'll let you know if any more problems arise)

Glad you got it running.

I am surprised you have a fan error as a result of a 3 pin fan since 3 and 4 pin fans read speeds the same way, You seem to have 1 fan over 2 cpus, I would guess that one cpu header is empty. You should be able to ignore it in the bios.

Scanning all the memory sucks, but it will ensure a stable system(bad ram does all kinds of things).

I have another fan plugged into the other cpu socket, so the 3pin and 4pin is the only thing I could think of, just laid the fan there so the cpus would stay cool while I made a circle around the board with 5 more fans. It's not recognizing any of the fans, but hopefully I can find a way for it to ignore the fan error since it makes quite the annoying beep every startup telling me that, and making me hit F1 to continue.
